2023 Travel Award Recipients

SfRBM’s Junior Awards, DEI and Publication Outreach and Foundation Committees wish to congratulate the winners of the Society’s Annual Travel Awards. These awards are made available to students and postdocs who submitted abstracts for SfRBM-SFRRI 2023 to present their research. Abstracts were judged using a double blind review process.  Winners will receive special recognition at the SfRBM-SFRRI 2023 Closing Banquet in Punta del Este on November 18 and free registration to the SfRBM 2024 or SfRBM 2025 conference.

SFRR-International and SFRR-Europe have awarded additional Travel Awards for ECR delegates from Europe, Asia, Australasia.  SFRRI and SFRRE have been able to support an additional 25 Travel Awards.

Traditional Travel Award Recipients

10 awards at $1,000 each are conferred to SfRBM postdoc or student members in the United States and rest of the world and 10 awards at $500 each are presented to SfRBM postdoc and student members in Latin America

DEI Travel Award Recipients

5 awards at $1,000 each are conferred to member trainees who are underrepresented in science or marginalized and/or intentionally ignored identities in society (BIPOC, LGBTQIA and/or disabled)

SfRBM Journal Travel Award Recipients

5 awards at $1,000 each are conferred to member trainees in Latin America to present their research at SfRBM-SFRRI 2023 with the expectation that they submit an article related to their work to one of SfRBM’s journals within 1 year

SfRBM Foundation Travel Awards

The SfRBM Foundation is sponsoring travel awards and registration waivers that will be available to trainees in Latin America and awarded based on the merit of their abstract.
