Call for 2022 Sessions

SfRBM 2022  |  29th Annual Conference
November 16-19, 2022
Orlando, FL, USA

The Society for Redox Biology and Medicine (SfRBM) is soliciting proposals from investigators worldwide for plenary session topics and speakers at SfRBM 2022, to be held November 16-19, 2022, in Orlando, FL, USA.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please send a Plenary Session Topic/Speaker Proposal to SfRBM by February 15, 2022. Proposals covering a broad range of topics are encouraged such as the role dietary and cellular antioxidants in health and disease, redox cell signaling and the chemical biology and effects of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in biological systems. Proposals which have a strong mechanistic basis, a clear theme, high-profile speakers and encompass basic science to clinical applications are of particular interest.

Be advised that SfRBM 2022 Scientific Program Committee also invites novel submissions that feature diversity in both the gender and geographic location of proposed speakers.

Submission Deadline: February 15, 2022

GUIDELINES

SfRBM 2022 will feature plenary sessions consisting of four 30 minute segments - 25 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of audience question and answer time for each speaker.

Please review and follow the guidelines below as this will facilitate thorough consideration by the SfRBM 2022 Scientific Program Committee. The review of the proposals will be strictly based upon scientific merit and the potential thematic interest to conference attendees.

Proposal should include:

  1. Name of Chairs: List your full contact information at the top of the proposal. Plenary sessions should have two chairs and it is anticipated that they will develop the session program together.
  2. Topic/Title: Plenary session title and topic
  3. Topic Background: Description/research (please make the case for why this topic is of general interest to the SfRBM audience)
  4. Speakers: 4 potential speakers, including name, contact information, proposed title of each presentation and a brief description of their background and research.
  5. Disease Sector: SfRBM is introducing Disease Sectors to our conference programming. Since SfRBM does not have a “disease” like many other societies, this initiative will assist us in organizing educational offerings and research into sectors, allowing for more potential exposure for the redox field. When submitting a proposal, please clearly indicate the most appropriate Disease Sector from the following 6 options: Cardiovascular & Pulmonary, Metabolism/Bioenergetics, Cancer, Neurodegenerative Disease, Redox Regulation & Mechanisms, Interdisciplinary

A sample proposal with the required format can be found here.Keep in mind that presentations should not be focused on a review of the area, but rather presentation of new discoveries and their context. This is a highly competitive process so if you choose to contact potential speakers at the submission stage please make it clear that there is no guarantee of acceptance. We ask that the proposal be no more than 2-3 pages.

  • Past plenary session topics from 2007 – 2019 can be found here.
