Ruma Banerjee Elected to National Academy of Sciences

Dr. Ruma Banerjee, Vincent Massey Legacy Professor of Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan, was recently elected to the National Academy of Sciences. Her research has focused on the enzymes, coenzymes and metabolic pathways that are involved in the sulfur network in mammals, and she has made groundbreaking discoveries in the biogenesis and signaling aspects of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), an important cellular metabolite that has gained broad recent interest and impacts on various aspects of redox biology.
