Opportunities for Undergraduate Researchers

To stimulate the participation of undergraduate students and support undergraduate research, the Undergraduate Research (UGR) sub-committee invites undergraduates and their mentors to attend the SfRBM 25th Annual Conference in Chicago, IL, November 2018. As an active sub-committee of SfRBM we offer various networking opportunities for undergraduates and mentors as well as those who are interested in mentorship of undergraduates. These opportunities include professional development, exchange of scientific knowledge, grantsmanship tips and gatherings of undergraduates and mentors at the Annual Conference.

Since the UGR sub-committee was established in 2016, the undergraduate participation has been increasing steadily - 2016: 10 students and 4 posters; 2017: 14 students and 12 posters.

Undergraduates at SfRBM 2018 receive:

  • Signature red lanyards
  • Discounted registration
  • The chance to win the Undergraduate Research Award for best poster presentation
  • An invitation to the Undergraduates and Mentors Gathering at the Opening Night Reception
  • Interactive opportunities for students to learn about graduate programs

If you are interested in more information about the UGR sub-committee, or have a graduate program, post-bacc program or summer undergraduate research program you’d like to advertise to undergraduates, please contact Karina Ckless (kckle001@plattsburgh.edu) or Aimee Eggler (aimee.eggler@villanova.edu).
