The Oberley Distinguished Lectureship serves to recognize and honor the important contributions to cancer and aging research by both Drs. Larry and Terry Oberley. The inaugural Oberley Lecture was held at SfRBM's 2024 Conference last month in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Doug Spitz, Director for the Free Radical and Radiation Biology program at The University of Iowa, gave an inspirational talk on "Exploring Fundamental Differences in Cancer Cell Redox Metabolism for Enhancing Therapeutic Outcomes". This initiative has been initially and generously endowed by Dr. Daret St. Clair, a long-time SfRBM member and renowned redox researcher from University of Kentucky.
