The Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral fellow. Preference to candidates with expertise in the field of Molecular and Cell Biology. Training is within the Department of Medicine and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology within a highly collaborative training environment and includes: molecular determinants of cardiovascular development, cilia function, biophysics of globins, role of nitric oxide in cilia motility, molecular mechanisms in the setting of cardiac laterality, primary cilia dyskinesia (PCD).

The Gladwin/Corti lab at University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks an enthusiastic, thoughtful scientist to join our extensive and multidisciplinary team. We use mice and zebrafish models. We employ classic and innovative molecular biology and biochemistry approaches to investigate the mechanisms of nitric oxide and globins signaling in cilia motility for cardiovascular system development with the aim to understand fundamental mechanisms of cardiovascular biology with translational applications. We seek a highly motivated and talented scientist to join our enthusiastic, collaborative, and diverse team in an outstanding scientific environment to take part in our exciting research.

Qualifications:
The successful applicants will hold a PhD in a relevant research area such as molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and strong track record of accomplishment. Prior experience in molecular and cell biology or biochemistry is ideal. Expertise in any of the following areas is valued but nor required: developmental biology, gene editing, imaging, zebrafish and mouse models.
