Description

The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, School of Public Health (SPH), invites applicants to apply for an open non-tenure Research Assistant Professor full-time faculty position.
The Department is seeking doctoral-level degree candidates to join Dr. Kagan’s Redox Biology Lab to study mechanisms of lipid signaling in health and disease (Cell 2017, Nature 2019, Nature ChemBiol 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, Nature Comms, 2021, PNAS, 2019, 2020, Science TranslMed, 2020, Science Adv 2020, J ClinInv 2018, 2019, AngewChem 2019, 2021, etc.). The applicants are expected to be interested and qualified in molecular biology, molecular toxicology, redox biology/biochemistry as well as bioinformatics and system biology. The position will require the candidate to lead/perform experiments aimed at elucidation the mechanisms of programmed cell death in the context of pro-/anti-inflammatory responses triggered by chemical, physical and pathogenic agents and environmental factors. The focus of this research is placed on the mechanistic involvement of diversified (phospho)lipid peroxidation products in signaling. These experiments heavily rely on knowledge and experience in LC-MS approaches to analysis of lipids and their oxygenated molecular species. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s background/experience. The corresponding salary range for a Research Assistant Professor is $56,000 - $82,000.

Review of applications will commence upon receipt of all application materials and will continue until the position is filled. The following documents are required. Upload them to your profile so that they are a part of your application:
